Upon successful completion of the DTA Degree program, students will be able to do the following in each outcome area:
Analyze and evaluate their growth and learning about reclamation, restoration, and revitalization of place-based identity, culture, and language, and apply their learning in order to develop a vision for their future and their place in community.
Develop receptive communication skills including active listening and comprehension. Express ideas verbally and in writing in ways that effectively communicate for themselves and for their community using rhetoric, research skills, and appropriate format for the audience and purpose. Use technology effectively in order to demonstrate understanding through communication.
Accurately interpret and analyze information from multiple formal and informal sources, draw and communicate conclusions from multiple sources, and use evidence of research and citations to support thinking.
Evaluate how humans and the environment are interrelated and articulate the impact of human decisions on our planet and all of its systems in order to advocate for the ethical use of natural resources.
Examine the impact of their role in their community’s social system and their responsibility for advocating for ethical and sustainable social support within communities.
Understand current global issues and the impact of these issues within the student’s community, identify their role in their response to these issues, and advocate for their community in ways that preserve or advance sovereignty and inherent rights in the face of global issues.
