Designed to provide students with a basic understanding of chemical dependency assessment and treatment. Prerequisite: HUMS-170. (NE)

Outcomes

1. Using standard English and appropriate medical abbreviations to document face to-face interviews with patients/clients demonstrating a summary statement of needs.
2. Demonstrate use of ASAM Criteria in standard forms for intake, transfer, and discharge .
3. Accurately identify, describe, and apply the requirements of chemical dependency assessments.
4. Identify and define the requirements for treatment, including level of care, continuing care, transfer referrals, and discharge planning, according to ASAM and WAC criteria.
