BEHA 103 Crisis Intervention

Provides tools for helping ourselves, our loved ones and those we serve. It includes practical and effective approaches for managing stress and intense emotions in our own lives, as well as new national care standards for identification, treatment, and prevention of suicidal thoughts. (NE)

  1. Explain foundational practices regarding crisis intervention in families and communities affected by historical and intergenerational trauma.
  2. Identifying prevention methods in Indigenous knowledge systems within Behavioral Health.
  3. Apply dynamics of crisis prevention, common misconceptions and evaluation of risk of families/ communities affected by behavioral health issues.
  4. Identify and have immediate response to risk of clients who pose a risk to themselves or others.
  5. Expand portfolio to reflect coursework in Behavioral Health Aide Projects for NWIC/CHAP/NPAIHB.
