ENVS 330 Hydrology: Sacred Waters

Presents the hydrologic cycle and imparts an understanding of its components and their interactions with human activities. Emphasizes the various interdependent hydrologic processes of the Pacific Northwest, the relationship of those processes to the habitat for salmonids, and the importance to tribes. Prerequisites: GEOL 101 or 211 and MATH 102 or 107.

Outcomes

  1. Delineate the hydrologic processes, the magnitude of the various processes, and how they function in Northwestern Washington.
  2. Use previously collected data in order to analyze and project hydrological processes and water resources for Northwestern Washington and Whatcom County.
  3. Produce text and graphics which illustrate atmospheric, surface and ground water movements.
